Like other Prairie Provinces, Manitoba's climate is characterized by temperature extremes. Summers are warm and can be very hot; winters are usually cold and sunny, in which there are often periods of extreme cold, that are made worse by strong winds.
Temperatures in July and August Average 25 degrees Celsius with midwinter temperatures almost always remaining well below freezing.
